The game
Flamengo dominated the match from the start. With great organization and determination, the Mais Querido occupied spaces, exchanged passes, and created chances from the outset. Arão nearly opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a beautiful header. The first goal was scored by Felipe Vizeu in the 17th minute. Mancuello drew the defender and passed the ball to the youngster, who appeared well, shot into the corner, and found the net. Ahead on the scoreboard, the Rubro-Negro did not let up. They continued to mark Atlético-MG in their own half, and thus the Minas Gerais team struggled to create chances. Mancuello nearly increased the lead in the 35th minute when he shot across goal, but Victor saved.

In the second half, Alex Muralha made a great save in the 10th minute. Two minutes later, Jorge delivered a beautiful through ball. Fernandinho sped past, dribbled beautifully, and sent in a low cross. Vizeu got ahead of his marker and slotted it home: 2-0. With a strong lead, Flamengo continued to create chances. Fernandinho, Pará, and Vizeu created strong counterattacks, but Atlético's defense managed to prevent another goal. Flamengo remained solid on defense until the final whistle.
