The match was divided into two halves. The first lasted 35 minutes, while the second lasted 45 minutes. Initially, the Mais Querido fielded César in goal; a back three of Léo Duarte, Thuler, and Rhodolfo; and the wingers were Rodinei and Trauco. Further forward, the defensive midfield duo of Ronaldo and Willian Arão was complemented by the attacking trio of Marlos Moreno, Vinicius Jr., and Felipe Vizeu.

For the final stage, coach Paulo César Carpegiani made several changes. Goalkeeper Julio Cesar participated in training between the posts. Ahead of the number 12, Kleber, Romulo, Thuler, and Trauco formed the defensive line. Cuéllar and Jean Lucas moved into midfield, which was closed by midfielder Ederson. Finally, Jajá, Gevânio, and Lincoln completed the attack.

In a move by Trauco and Geuvânio on the left following a short corner kick taken by the Peruvian, the striker found Ederson unmarked near the penalty spot. The midfielder simply had to tap the ball into the back of the net. Shortly after, Jean Lucas was brought down in the opposition box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Ederson's shot displaced the goalkeeper and sealed the score at the training center.

This Friday (02), the red-black preparation for the classic against Botafogo will come to an end. The match will be played at the Nilton Santos stadium, with the ball rolling from 17 pm this Saturday (03).
