It was with goals from Wallace and Marcelo Cirino that Flamengo achieved its first victory in the Campeonato Carioca, on Wednesday night (03). The match against Macaé, at the Moacyrzão stadium, was valid for the second round of the tournament.

Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Wednesday (10), against Portuguesa, at 21:45 pm, at the Cidadania stadium. You are scheduled for all games this season: become a fan member!

The game

Flamengo's first good opportunities came on the right. Marcelo Cirino created the first big chance for the Rubro-Negro – nearly scoring a goal. Rodinei went to the byline and found the striker inside the box. The ball was ready for a backheel shot, but the goalkeeper made a great save. From another Rodinei cross from the byline, Emerson narrowly missed reaching the ball with a sliding tackle in the 20th minute.

In the 32nd minute, the number 11 had another great opportunity, this time with a rocket from the left edge of the penalty area, forcing Willian Alves into another difficult save. Shortly before the end of the first half, Guerrero managed to find the net, but the linesman had already flagged for offside. As fate would have it, Wallace was the one responsible for opening the scoring at the Moacyrzão stadium. Guerrero played a waiter's game and set up the wall for the captain, who controlled the ball, raised his head, and passed it to Juan, on his left. He passed it back to his defensive partner, who controlled it and turned beautifully to shoot into the goalkeeper's corner.

In the second half, Flamengo returned to the field looking to extend their lead, deploying Guerrero, Cirino, and Emerson up front. In the 31st minute, in his last play before being replaced by Gabriel, the number 7 managed to double the lead. On the right, Jorge beautifully dribbled past his marker and crossed with his outside of the foot for Cirino to head into the net, sealing the match's final score.
