The game
At Serra Dourada, the match started evenly. In the stands, the Nação (Nation) displayed its strength and made the team feel at home with plenty of singing and cheering. The Mais Querido's first chance came in the ninth minute. Guerrero received the ball in midfield and shot, but the ball went wide of the goal. The Rubro-Negro (Rubro-Negro) had more possession and tried to pressure Goiás, but the opposing defense left little room. The game was closely studied by both teams until the 25th minute. After a technical timeout signaled by referee Heber Roberto Lopes, the emerald team grew in the match and even threatened the Rubro-Negro goal, but goalkeeper Cesar demonstrated his efficiency with some fine saves and kept the score unchanged.

At halftime, coach Cristóvão Borges made two changes to Flamengo. He took off Ayrton and Canteros and brought on Pará and Alan Patrick. With Márcio Araújo more defensively, Goiás saw less of the ball, and Flamengo came out more involved. In the 16th minute, Marcelo Cirino made a beautiful play down the left, dribbling past Éverton, and setting up a pass. He crossed back, and Alan Patrick arrived to take the shot, but the defense blocked him before he could shoot. Ten minutes later, number 27 was the one to start the play. He passed through the middle and passed to Guerrero, who only just deflected it to Cirino. The number 7 came face to face with the goal and shot into the corner, leaving Renan with no chance. In the 31st minute, the Peruvian almost scored Flamengo's second when he controlled the ball with his chest, turned, and fired a powerful shot from inside the box, but the ball went wide. Goiás pressed in the final moments, but the score remained 1-0 to Flamengo.
