At Serra Dourada, the match started evenly. In the stands, the Nação (Nation) displayed its strength and made the team feel at home with plenty of singing and cheering. The Mais Querido's first chance came in the ninth minute. Guerrero received the ball in midfield and shot, but the ball went wide of the goal. The Rubro-Negro (Rubro-Negro) had more possession and tried to pressure Goiás, but the opposing defense left little room. The game was closely studied by both teams until the 25th minute.
