In the second leg of the Copa do Brasil Third Stage, Flamengo defeated Altos-PI 2-0 at Raulino de Oliveira Stadium and qualified for the round of XNUMX. Flamengo's goals were scored by Gabi, from the penalty spot, and Victor Hugo, who celebrated his birthday on the day he scored for the first time in the professional team.

The game
Flamengo started the match valuing possession and exchanging passes in attack. In the 11th minute, the red-and-black team created their first good opportunity. Thiago Maia delivered a beautiful pass to Lázaro, who came one-on-one with the goalkeeper and fired a shot over the crossbar.

In the 25th minute, Marinho played a one-two with Gabi and took a shot from outside the box. The ball went wide, but it was dangerous. The Mais Querido continued to press Altos in search of a goal. In the 31st minute, Diego took a corner kick into the box, Léo Pereira headed it in, and João Gomes finished at the far post. The ball hit the goalkeeper's left post. The first half ended 0-0.

In Flamengo's first breakaway of the second half, Lázaro fed a beautiful ball to Pedro, who tried to dribble past the goalkeeper, but the ball went out of bounds. In the 12th minute, Lázaro was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Gabigol stepped up to take the shot and beat goalkeeper Marcelo to make it 1-0.

In the closing stages, Altos pushed forward more, leaving the game open. In the 40th minute, Mengão extended their lead! Diego passed the ball over the bar to Rodinei, who crossed from the left for Victor Hugo to head firmly into the top corner, making it 2-0.  

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Saturday (14) to face Ceará, at 16:30 pm, at Castelão. The game is valid for the sixth round of the Brasileirão.
