Mengão won again! With a stellar performance, the "Mais Querido" defeated Athletico-PR 3-0 at the Mané Garrincha stadium in Brasília to win the Brazilian Super Cup. Its first victory in this competition. Bruno Henrique, Gabigol, and De Arrascaeta scored the red-and-black goals.

The game

Mengão started the match like that, with that frenetic pace we've come to expect. And the first goal didn't take long to arrive. Fifteen minutes into the first half, Gabigol received the ball on the right and crossed for Bruno Henrique to head home: 15-1 and a celebration for the nation. The second goal came in the 0th minute. Márcio Azevedo made a poor pass back to goalkeeper Santos, but Gabigol, always the man, was quicker and tapped it into the net: 28-2.

The second half was also all Mengão. In the 23rd minute, BH took a shot with the ball under control and tried to pass it to Gabigol. Goalkeeper Santos deflected it, and the ball ended up at the feet of the always decisive De Arrascaeta. And then, there was no way out. Mengão scored: 3-0. 

And it ended like this: 3-0 with a show by the Nation in the stands of Mané Garrincha and a show by Jorge Jesus' team on the field!

Mengão returns to the field on Wednesday to face Independiente del Valle, away from home, at 22:30 pm (Brasília time) in the first leg of the Recopa Sudamericana final. Let's go in search of another title!
