Flamengo beat Corinthians 2-1 and stay in the fight for the Brazilian title

In the 36th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo beat Corinthians 2-1 on Sunday afternoon (14), at Maracanã. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Willian Arão and Gabigol. With the result, Mengão remains alive in the fight for the Brazilian title.
The game
Flamengo started the first half putting heavy pressure on Corinthians. In the ninth minute, Flamengo opened the scoring. Arrascaeta took a free kick into the box, and Willian Arão headed it into the corner, leaving Cássio with no chance: 1-0.
The red-and-black team exchanged passes in the Corinthians midfield, trying to find space to set up attacking plays. In the 19th minute, Corinthians equalized through Léo Natel: 1-1. After the equalizer, Corinthians continued to dominate possession and create the best chances. The first half ended with the score tied.
Less than a minute into the second half, Flamengo created a dangerous situation. Bruno Henrique received the ball at speed on the left, beat Fagner, and fired a cross-shot. The ball flew past everyone and out of bounds. In the ninth minute, Flamengo took the lead! Bruno Henrique fired a shot that Cássio saved. On the rebound, Everton Ribeiro crossed for Gabigol to tap into the empty net: 2-1.
For the rest of the match, with a lot of fighting and determination, Flamengo managed the result and left the field with the victory, which keeps them alive in the fight for the Brazilian title.

Mengão returns to the field next Sunday (21) to face Internacional, at 16 pm, at Maraca. The clash between Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul is valid for the penultimate round and can decide the Brazilian title.
