With goals from top scorer Gabigol and star striker De Arrascaeta, Mengão defeated Cruzeiro 2-1 this Saturday at Mineirão Stadium in a match valid for the 20th round of the Brazilian Championship. It was the Mais Querido's seventh consecutive victory in the competition, a record for the club.

The game 

In the first half, Flamengo dominated the game and opened the scoring in the sixth minute through Gabigol. After a strong attacking move, Gerson crossed into the box and found the striker, who headed home. It was Gabriel's 6th goal in the competition. Cruzeiro equalized with a penalty from Thiago Neves in the 17th minute. It's worth noting that the penalty (Rodrigo Caio's penalty on Pedro Rocha) was questionable. 

In the second half, Mengão continued to dominate and took the lead again in the 21st minute. De Arrascaeta received a pass from Willian Arão and, after a cutback from Gabigol, scored. The Uruguayan could have added Mengão's third a few minutes later. He flicked a ball past Cacá, but his shot went wide. It ended 2-1 for Mengão at Mineirão Stadium.

The Mais Querido returns to the field on Wednesday at 21:30 p.m. to face Internacional in the Brazilian Championship. The match will be played at Maracanã Stadium.
