In the first match of the final of the Campeonato Carioca, played this Sunday (12), at Maracanã, Flamengo beat Fluminense 2-1. Pedro and Michael scored the goals for Rubro-Negro in the match. With the result, Mais Querido will have the advantage of a draw in the second game of the decision.

O JOGO

The match began with both teams closely studying each other, with Fluminense exerting strong marking. In the 15th minute, Mengão created a threat. Arrascaeta advanced with the ball under control and passed to Gabigol on the right. The number 9 controlled the ball, moved it into the middle, and struck firmly, forcing a great save from Muriel. The red-and-black team passed the ball from foot to foot, trying to create space in the opposing defense.

After so much persistence, the Mais Querido opened the scoring in the 29th minute. Vitinho passed to Arrascaeta, who passed to Diego, who, with his first touch, found Pedro free on the edge of the penalty area. The striker fired a shot into the back of the net: 1-0. The first half ended with the Rubro-Negro in the lead.

In the second half, Fluminense came back stronger and threatened in the sixth minute, with a Dodi shot from outside the box. Diego Alves, well positioned, palmed it away. In the 6th minute, Fluminense tied the game. Egídio crossed from the left and Evanilson deflected it into the net: 15-1.

In the 28th minute, Mengão took the lead again! Rafinha found Gabigol at speed, who beat Egídio and sent a low cross into the six-yard box. Michael stepped in alone to tap the ball into the back of the net: 2-1. Fluminense still had a few scoring opportunities, but the Mais Querido managed to leave the field with the victory.

Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Wednesday (15) to face Fluminense again in the second match of the final of the Campeonato Carioca. The classic will be played at 21 pm, at Maracanã.
