Flamengo beats Grêmio 1-0 and secures another victory in the Brasileirão
Gabigol scored another and secured three more points for Mengão
By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo took to the field on Sunday afternoon (17) and beat Grêmio, away from home, 1-0, in a match valid for the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship. The red-black goal was scored by Gabigol, from a penalty.
The game
The match started evenly, with both teams looking to attack. In the 19th minute, Flamengo created a threat. Gabigol played a one-two with Arrascaeta, received the ball inside the box, and fired a low shot. Paulo Victor saved with his legs. In the 33rd minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Flamengo. Gabigol stepped up to take the penalty and made it 1-0 for Flamengo, who finished the first half ahead.
In the second half, the game remained tightly contested, with plenty of back-and-forth in midfield. Mengão tried to build attacking plays through Arrascaeta, who excelled in the match. Grêmio also sought to score by sending balls into the box, but the red-and-black defense stood firm and blocked everything. And so the duel ended with another 1-0 victory for Mengão.

Next Saturday (23), Mengão faces River Plate (ARG) in the final of the Conmebol Libertadores 2019. The game will be played at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru, at 17 pm (Brasília time).
