Flamengo defeats Juventude and breaks a historic taboo in Caxias do Sul

The game
The match began with Juventude taking the initiative to attack. But Flamengo soon gained possession and tried to attack by exchanging passes.
The red-and-black team exploited the play down the left flank, with Samuel Lino. In the 17th minute, Arrascaeta crossed from the right and Léo Pereira narrowly missed heading it in. Then, Samuel Lino played a one-two with Arrascaeta on the left, dribbling into the box, and unleashed a dangerous cross.
Mengão had the better of the match and opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Samuel Lino passed to Saúl on the left side of the box, who crossed perfectly for Arrascaeta, who was free, to head home firmly to make it 1-0. The first half ended with the red-and-blacks dominating and in the lead.
