The game
The match began as usual when Flamengo plays at home: attacking from the first minute. The first good chance came in the sixth minute. Cebolinha went down the wing at speed and passed to Arrascaeta, who entered the area and took a shot that was saved by Cleiton. Shortly after, Arrascaeta passed to Cebolinha, he entered the area and shot low, but the goalkeeper made a good save.
With much more possession, the Flamengo team exchanged passes in the attacking half and moved the ball around to try and open up spaces in Bragantino's defense. At 20', Jorginho found Carrascal in the area and the Colombian shot towards goal. The ball hit the side netting. Flamengo continued to press and created danger at 27'. Arrascaeta stole the ball on the left, made a good play and crossed into the area. Varela headed firmly and Cleiton saved Bragantino with an excellent save.
The first half ended with Flamengo dominating possession, but struggling to penetrate Bragantino's penalty area, which was well-organized defensively. As a result, the teams went into halftime with the score tied.
The game's landscape changed completely in the second half. With Bruno Henrique replacing Plata, Flamengo suffered a major scare right at the start. Lucas Barbosa delivered a powerful cross into the box, the ball deflected off Danilo and headed towards the goal. Rossi cleared it off the line. Quickly, Flamengo responded in the next play and opened the scoring with the number 10 from Gávea! Jorginho recovered the ball in midfield and passed to Arrascaeta, who entered the area, feinted past Pedro Henrique and slotted the ball into the corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance: 1-0.

A few minutes after the goal, Luiz Araújo came on for Carrascal. At 15', Cebolinha made a great play on the left, dribbled past his marker and attempted a cross. The ball hit Hurtado's hand and the referee awarded a penalty. Jorginho, with his usual precision, simply placed the ball past the goalkeeper to extend the lead: 2-0.
Even with the game becoming more relaxed, Flamengo continued attacking in search of more goals. And the third came in the 26th minute to the delight of the fans! Arrascaeta provided a beautiful assist for Bruno Henrique, who carried the ball into the area and fired a low shot across goal into the corner: 3-0.
In the final minutes, Flamengo valued possession, managed their lead, and left the field with an important victory to further solidify their position at the top of the table. Now, Filipe Luís' team has opened up a four-point advantage over Palmeiras and continues its journey towards its ninth Brazilian title.
