Flamengo's squad returned to Gávea on Wednesday afternoon to continue preparing for the Guanabara Cup semifinal, which will be played on Saturday at 16 p.m. against Resende at Maracanã. To get the red-and-black team back in shape, the coaching staff organized a practice match against Sendas, from the second division of the Campeonato Carioca.
During the training session, coach Cuca surprised everyone by fielding defender Douglas alongside Fábio Luciano. Juan, who missed the last few games due to pain in his right leg, trained normally and is confirmed for the decisive match. Flamengo faced Sendas with: Bruno (Marcelo Lomba); Léo Moura (Everton Silva), Douglas (Wellinton), Fábio Luciano (Thiago Sales), and Juan (Egídio); Airton (Toró), Willians (Kleberson), Ibson (Fierro), and Marcelinho Paraíba (Everton); Zé Roberto (Josiel), and Obina (Maxi). Flamengo won 3-0, with goals from Obina, Ibson, and Josiel.
