The game
The first half was fiercely contested. With attacking play, both teams constantly sought a goal. Dangerous chances arose for both sides. First, Kieza nearly scored from a cross from the right; and then Mancuello, whose shot was cleared off the line after a beautiful play by Felipe Vizeu.
In the second half, the teams took even more risks. In the 17th minute, Rodinei was fouled on the right side of the attack. Alan Patrick took the free kick, but the ball was deflected by the defense and found the head of Willian Arão, who set up Felipe Vizeu to score.
After the goal, Flamengo began to exploit their speed on the counterattack and created opportunities. Vitória also created a few chances, but the Mais Querido defense remained well-positioned and managed to hold on.
