Flamengo returned to Maracanã and also secured a victory this Thursday. Playing a solid game, the "Mais Querido" defeated Vitória, reaching 40 points and reducing the lead over the leader, which is now just two points. Their next match will be against América on Sunday, at 16 pm, at Independência Stadium.

Mengão dictated the pace of the match from the opening whistle. Cornered, Vitória was unable to close the gap, and Flamengo's chances naturally arose. In the best of them, Henrique Dourado struck a powerful right-footed shot, which the goalkeeper made a great save.

The midfield worked well, constantly engaging the opposition. The goal was only a matter of time. After a good finish from Lucas Paquetá, Diego, on the rebound, slotted home.

In the second half, with the advantage on the scoreboard, Mengão controlled the pace. Even so, they remained in the attacking half, creating several opportunities.

Marlos, who replaced Vitinho, nearly scored a stunning goal after dribbling past four opponents to the delight of the more than 50 attendees. Lincoln also suffered a penalty on a questionable play, which the referee didn't award. Diego Alves made only one save.

Guaranteed result, keep an eye on the next challenges. Let's go, Flamengo!
