In another beautiful chapter of its history, Flamengo beat Palmeiras 1-0 this Saturday (29), at the Monumental de Lima, and became the first Brazilian club to win the Libertadores four times. In the second half, Danilo rose high and headed in a precise header to seal the fourth continental title.

The game
The match began with Flamengo creating a dangerous chance in the first minute. Varela delivered a good pass to Bruno Henrique, who crossed low into the box. Arrascaeta attempted a shot, but the Palmeiras defense cleared it.
The teams were cautiously sizing each other up in the opening minutes, with Flamengo dominating possession. In the 14th minute, Bruno Henrique broke free from his marker, advanced, and shot over the bar. A minute later, Arrascaeta passed to Samuel Lino on the left, who entered the box, cut inside, and shot towards the corner, but the ball went wide.
In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo threatened again. Carrascal delivered a great pass to Bruno Henrique inside the box. The number 27 got there before Carlos Miguel and passed the ball into the middle of the area, but the defense cleared the danger. The first half ended goalless.
Returning for the second half, the game remained very close, but Flamengo dominated possession and looked for opportunities to attack. Six minutes in, Bruno Henrique recovered the ball and passed to Arrascaeta, who entered the penalty area and shot, but the ball was deflected by Gustavo Gómez.
With complete dominance, the Flamengo team continued their attack, pressuring Palmeiras. At 21 minutes, the pressure paid off and Flamengo opened the scoring, much to the delight of the fans! Arrascaeta took a corner, Danilo jumped higher than everyone else and headed the ball into the corner of the net; it even touched the post before going in: 1-0.
Shortly after the goal, Cebolinha came on for Samuel Lino. The next substitution was Luiz Araújo replacing Arrascaeta. Needing an equalizer, Palmeiras tried to apply pressure, but the Flamengo defense was well-organized and kept the danger away.
In stoppage time, Cebolinha took a free kick just outside the penalty area, Carlos Miguel parried the ball, and it hit the post. In the remaining minutes, Flamengo managed to withstand Palmeiras' pressure and left the field with their fourth Libertadores title, becoming the first Brazilian team to achieve this feat. For the fourth time, America is red and black!
