Flamengo defeats River Plate and reaches the Generations Cup final
The team will face a Brazilian duel against Atlético-PR in the final.

Flamengo's U-17 team is in the Generation Adidas Cup final in the United States. Flamengo defeated River Plate 1-0 in the semifinal on Thursday and will now face Atlético Paranaense in the final. The match will be on Saturday at 21:30 pm (Brasília time). The Paraná team defeated Pachuca of Mexico in the other semifinal.
As expected, a derby against River Plate is always a tough one. Both teams played a tense game with few chances in the first half. Fouls were plentiful, and with well-positioned defenses, both teams attempted more from outside the box, but with poor accuracy. The score in the first forty-five minutes could only be 0-0.
In the second half, the scenario changed slightly. Flamengo had more possession and control of the game and was rewarded with a goal. In the 27th minute, Rhyan received the ball at the edge of the box, turned, and scored the winning goal. See how it all unfolded below.
