A victory over their rival with a goal late in the second half. History repeating itself? This scenario happened again. On Thursday night (July 30.07), Flamengo faced Vasco in the Brazilian Under-20 Championship and won with a goal from Felipe Vizeu in the 40th minute of the final stage.

The match, valid for the third round of the competition, took place in Volta Redonda. Flamengo achieved its second victory in three games and now sits in second place with 6 points.

Throughout the match, both teams had chances. Douglas Baggio hit the post in the eighteenth minute of the first half. Even so, the score remained unchanged until the final stretch of the second half. In the 40th minute, coach Zé Ricardo replaced Thiago Santos with Felipe Vizeu. In the first play, the substitute received the ball between two defenders and scored a stunning chipped goal.

The next match for the Mais Querido under-20 team is again against Vasco, in the second leg of the Taça Rio semifinal. The match takes place in Gávea, on Sunday (02.08), at 15 pm. In the Brasileirão, next Wednesday (05.08), the rivals meet once again, at 19 pm, in Duque de Caxias.
