The historical record of the matchup favors the home team. Atlético-PR has hosted Flamengo in Curitiba 22 times in the Brazilian Championship, with only one victory for the Rio de Janeiro club. That match took place in 1974, with goals from Zico and Paulinho. In total, there have been 42 encounters, with nine draws and 14 victories for Flamengo.
Six years ago, in 2011, Flamengo beat Atlético-PR at Arena da Baixada in a match valid for the Copa Sudamericana, and the only goal of the game was scored by Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
