On Saturday afternoon (11), Flamengo took to the field for the sixth round of the Brasileirão and, with a good performance, beat Corinthians 2-0 at Maracanã. Pedro and Lorran scored to secure the third red-black victory in the competition. With 11 points, Mengão sleeps at the top of the national table.
The game
The match began with Corinthians pushing forward and pressuring Flamengo's attacking play. Gradually, the red-and-black team began to organize itself and created a few chances in the opening minutes. The first came from a set piece from a corner kick, De La Cruz crossed into the box, and Léo Pereira headed just wide of the post.
The second opportunity came after a mistake by the Corinthians goalkeeper, who played the ball to Gerson, who passed it to Lorran, who shot straight at Carlos Miguel. Ayrton Lucas then received the ball on the left and unleashed a powerful shot. The ball hit the post. The red-and-blacks were under pressure in the opening ten minutes.
In the 16th minute, Cebolinha received the ball on the left, cut inside, and shot powerfully. Carlos Miguel made another fine save. After so much persistence, Mengão opened the scoring in the 19th minute with top scorer Pedro. Lorran passed to the number 9, who dribbled past his marker and shot under the keeper to make it 1-0 at the Maracanã.
After the goal, Corinthians maintained their momentum and continued to press their opponents to extend their lead. In the 24th minute, Cebolinha broke free from his own half, carried the ball into the halfway line, and unleashed a beautiful shot. Carlos Miguel, once again, saved Corinthians from conceding a second goal.
In the final minutes, Flamengo again put pressure on the São Paulo team and narrowly missed scoring a second goal before halftime. Lorran received the ball face-to-face with the goalkeeper, tried to dribble past him, but lost possession. Flamengo dominated the first half, having numerous opportunities to extend their lead.

The Red-Blacks returned for the second half with Gabi replacing Pedro. At a disadvantage, Corinthians had to come out more, leaving the match more open.
At 10', the red-black team managed to steal the ball and went on the counter-attack with Lorran, who carried it close to the area and rolled it for De La Cruz to hit, but the goalkeeper made the save.
Then, in the 17th minute, Mengão extended their lead with Lorran! The opposing defense made a poor play, and Lorran regained possession. He exchanged passes with Gerson and slotted home: 2-0.
Throughout the game, Flamengo maintained control of the action, managed the advantage gained and left the field with the third victory, sleeping at the top of the Brasileirão with 11 points.
