Flamengo returns to training at CT and prepares for the match against Vitória
Paolo Guerrero begins treatment for a right thigh muscle injury
By Matheus Oliveira - inUpon the team's return to Ninho do Urubu, on the morning of this Friday (04), center forward Paolo Guerrero underwent an imaging exam that detected an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh. His treatment began today at the CT facilities.
Preparations for the Rubro-Negro's next Brazilian Championship match against Vitória have also begun. The players who played more than 45 minutes in the last match underwent recovery training at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), with some of these players taking to the field for specific ball exercises.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group participated in ball practice on Field 5, initially focusing on the technical aspects of the team led by coach Zé Ricardo. After the warm-up, specific attack-versus-defense training was conducted, with defensive numbers outnumbered.
Next came tactical training on a reduced-size pitch. Under the guidance of the club's manager, the work consisted of building plays from the defensive end, with the goalkeepers involved in passing to find the best openings for attacking plays.
The activity included participation from defender Rhodolfo and attacking midfielder Geuvânio, both fully recovered from their injuries. Athletes from the U-20 team also participated in the training, which concluded with finishing drills for the attackers and positioning drills for the defenders, using opposite halves of the pitch.
This Saturday (05), the squad will complete preparations to face Vitória at Ninho do Urubu, where they will remain concentrated until the day of the match. The match will be played at Ilha do Urubu this Sunday (06), with the ball rolling from 11 am.
