In a pre-match interview, coach Filipe Luís analyzed the game and highlighted the opponent's defensive quality. 

“Mayele was the key player in Al Ahli's game, perhaps the most decisive player for Pyramids, but it's a very solid team that isn't just about that player. Their defensive phase is very well-developed; they have a coach who understands this defensive aspect very well. From what I could analyze, they are a team that defends very well, that understands coverage and marking lines very well. Al Ahli, which is one of the best-organized teams in Saudi Arabia, struggled a lot to break through their defensive block. We will have to be very well-positioned tactically on the field, but the main thing is that the players are up to their creative and daring standards for this game,” the coach stated.

Retrospect

This will be the first time Flamengo and Pyramids have faced each other in history, and only the second time the red-and-black team has faced an Egyptian team. The only previous encounter was in 2023, when Flamengo beat Al Ahly 4-2 in a match for third place in the Club World Cup.
