No time to rest! After qualifying for the Conmebol Libertadores Round of 16 with a 2-0 win over Emelec, the Flamengo squad returned to training on Thursday afternoon (17), at Ninho do Urubu.
Before the start of training at the training center, full-back Rodinei gave a press conference and spoke about the shift in focus from the Libertadores Cup to the derby against Vasco in the Brazilian Championship.
"We have to switch gears. We know the responsibility that comes with playing here. I already celebrated everything after the game and this morning. We'll see what the coach tells us, and now it's total focus on Vasco. We have an obligation to switch gears as quickly as possible," commented the number 2.
The day's activities took place on Field 4, with guidance from Maurício Barbieri. The athletes who started the match against Emelec remained at the Center of Excellence in Performance (CEP FLA), doing regenerative work.
Rodinei also took the opportunity to highlight the importance of the Flamengo Nation.
"We know that derbies are competitive, even more so here in Rio de Janeiro. We know we're in good form, but we're not going to go in with that idea of being favorites, because we know that's not how football works. The support of our fans will be fundamental in defending our lead."
