On Saturday night (2), Flamengo faced Santos, at Vila Belmiro, in a game valid for the 15th round of the Brasileirão. Mais Querido won 2-1 with goals from Pedro and Gabi. With the result, Mengão reaches 21 points and sleeps in seventh place in the championship.

The game

The match started evenly. Flamengo's first shot came from Thiago Maia, who took a shot from outside the box.

In the 17th minute, Marinho received the ball on the right and played a through ball to Everton Ribeiro. The number 7 crossed back, and Pedro volleyed it in to open the scoring at Vila. A beautiful finish: 1-0 Flamengo.

After the goal, Flamengo grew into the game and continued to hold the ball in the attacking half. Marinho ran down the right and crossed for Pedro, who headed wide. Mengão almost extended their lead. And it was through Marinho's side that Flamengo created its chances. After a cross, the ball fell to Victor Hugo in the box, who shot wide.

In the final stretch of the first half, the Santos team evened the match, but Flamengo took the advantage into the locker room. 

In Flamengo's first chance of the second half, Pedro received the ball, dribbled past the goalkeeper, but found himself without a clear angle and shot wide. The next move was almost identical. Everton Ribeiro found Pedro deep, and this time the opposing goalkeeper made a good save. 

At 20', Santos tied the game: 1-1.

Then, in the 27th minute, Flamengo went on the attack. Pedro received the ball in the box and shot. The rebound fell to Gabi, who put it in the back of the net: 2-1 Flamengo. Late in the match, Mengão had a chance to extend their lead. Gabi fed Lázaro inside the box, but the opposing goalkeeper made the save. Gabi's goal sealed the match.

Mais Querido returns to the field next Wednesday (6), to face Tolima, at Maracanã, at 21:30 pm, for the second leg of the round of XNUMX of the Conmebol Libertadores.
