Professional football resumes exams and evaluations at the training center

Flamengo's professional football squad returned to the George Helal Training Center this Monday (18) to undergo physical exams and evaluations. Respecting the protocol agreed with the Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FERJ), Rubro-Negro will keep athletes and employees involved in the day-to-day running of the sport safe and periodically test them at Ninho do Urubu.

All activities are being carried out following hygiene and distancing measures, such as constant sanitization of sports equipment and facilities, in addition to the preparation of food in individual kits.

During this first period, players and staff members who tested negative for COVID-19 will be at the training center. Anyone who is not part of this group, who has already been tested and proven free of the novel coronavirus, will not be allowed to enter.

See all the measures implemented by the club:

1. Disinfection of the Training Center facilities

- Disinfection carried out by a specialized company on 22/04, in the three CT buildings, and a guarantee certificate was issued and using products that have been proven to kill the virus that causes COVID-19 (chlorine and 70% alcohol).

2. CT Cleaning

- CT cleaning team properly equipped with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), using products that effectively kill the virus (chlorine and 70% alcohol), cleaning all areas before and after use;

- The CT already has a large quantity of alcohol, chlorine, masks and gloves for immediate use and a team allocated and trained for the task.

3. DDS (Daily Safety Dialogue)

- Training employees on the use of PPE and safe working methods and preventive behavior, following recommendations from health authorities;

- A guideline on behavior against COVID-19 was created and training was provided to the teams at the CT.

4. Provision of hygiene materials

- Distribution of alcohol gel dispensers throughout the CT, in addition to individual use packaging;

- Several alcohol gel dispensers were installed at the CT.

5. Prevention of air conditioning contamination

- The central air conditioning system will not be used, leaving the doors and windows open to allow external air circulation;

- Air conditioning will not be turned on and controls will be removed from rooms and other locations.

6. Prohibition of use of changing rooms

- The locker rooms will not be used for changing clothes or showering. Each athlete and committee member will have their own individual room at their disposal;

- The door leading to the bedroom corridor will be on the side of the wall. Each athlete will use their room to change uniforms and clean their personal hygiene.

7. Tidying up the rooms

- Daily change of bath linen, which is immediately washed and dried at high temperatures and disinfection of rooms after use;

- The chambermaids are already instructed to proceed in this manner.

8. Food

- Keep the kitchen and cafeteria closed (confined areas). Food will be provided in individual kits;

- Individual kits will be placed in the athletes' rooms and in locations close to the work area for the technical team.

9. Contamination prevention

- Plan the delivery of goods during this period and do not allow the entry of people who are not essential to the professional football training activity.

10. General prevention guidelines

- Athletes, coaching staff and employees will be guided on how to proceed and move around internally at the CT;

- Access control through specific doors, prevention information, places to place boots, disinfection of equipment used (balls, boots, cones, shin guards, GPS, goals, etc.) immediately after use.

11. Maintenance of the Training Center

- Use of labor provided by a company that already provides this service to the CT so that more thorough cleaning and disinfection can be carried out during the early hours of the morning, so that the areas are ready for use the following day without risk;

- Plan being developed together with cleaning, conservation and building maintenance companies.

12. Prohibition of use of the gym and swimming pools

- At this first stage, as provided for in the FERJ protocol, the gym and swimming pool will be closed for use, with access control in the area.

13. Use of protective equipment

- All employees present at the CT and members of the technical committee will use the necessary PPE as per the guidance of health authorities.
