It was a busy weekend for Flamengo Futsal. Even with the advantage of having all categories already qualified for the Campeonato Carioca, the young Flamengos spared no effort in the fight for the best points in the standings.
Saturday afternoon (7/6) began with defeats in two games valid for the Fla-Flu classic, for the under-15 and under-17 categories, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea. Despite opening the scoring and having greater possession of the ball, Flamengo's under-15 team allowed the tricolor to react and lost in the final minutes, 5-3, in a very disputed game with few wrong passes.
The under-17 team entered the court ready to change this situation, but the opponent played well in marking and neutralized the red-black attacks, causing the Gávea team to lose 3-1.
The following morning (June 8th), things changed with three impressive victories for Flamengo in the under-6, under-9, and under-11 categories against Helênico. "Our breeding ground" for stars, the under-13 team, won 9-8, despite being heavily defended. The under-4 team played very effectively in defense and counterattacks, securing a 11-4 victory. The under-1 team won 13-8, characterized by good movement and precise passing, which led to several one-twos and shots.
