Flamengo's youth teams continue to win and are practically qualified for the next stage of the Carioca Futsal Championship. Last Sunday, Flamengo played Combinado 5 de Julho and won all three matches. The under-09 team won 9-2; the under-11 team won 7-4; and the under-13 team won 5-4. With two rounds remaining in the first stage, the teams from Gávea are in the following positions: under-09 - 1st place; under-11 - 2nd place; and under-13 - 1st place.
The youth team went to Cordeiro, in the last round of the championship, and beat the home team by a score of 16 to 1. With the victory, the red-black team advanced to the quarterfinals as 1st place in its group and will face the Portuguesa team, in home and away matches.
The adult men's and women's teams faced the same opponent, but with contrasting results. The women's team traveled to Cabo Frio to face Drogarias do Povo and returned with a 6-1 defeat. With this result, the team sits in third place, still in the qualifying zone for the next round.
The men's team defeated the same Drogarias do Povo, but in a match held in Gávea. Flamengo performed well on the court, with a highlight being number 10 Diego Panazio, who scored three goals in the 3-10 victory. The red-and-black team remained in second place in the first phase.
The U-15 and U-17 teams played at home against América, but didn't achieve good results. The U-15 team was leading 3-0, but ended up giving up a draw to their opponent. However, they are already mathematically qualified for the next round, securing second place in their group. The U-17 team, which entered the court needing only a draw to secure their qualification, ended up losing the game 7-6.
The two categories have, in the last round of this first phase, a classic against Vasco da Gama, away from home.
