Kids ready for another challenge in the under-23 category
Lucas, Alex and Amendoim could be selected for Saturday's match against Palmeiras

Coach Renato Trindade's team faces Palmeiras at Los Larios Stadium at 15:30 pm in a match valid for the second round of the category's Cup. After beating Fluminense 2-0 in their debut, the Rubro-Negro will return to the field this weekend with some new players. Without Camacho and Lenon, who are on loan, as well as Welinton, who will be used in the first team, the coach is still considering some alternatives for the team's lineup.
\One of Renato's options is defender Lucas. The defender, who played for the Brazilian national team at the 2007 Pan American Games, is eager to prove his worth and continue playing for Flamengo.
\"For me, it's a great opportunity to showcase my work, try to renew my contract and stay here for next year, showing coach Silas and the first team's coaching staff what I can do. I've been playing with Henrique in the youth team for a long time, and Rômulo is also an experienced guy, and we won't have any problems," he said.
\Another player who could have a chance to start is right-back Alex. The young player, who is the twin brother of left-back Anderson, has Leonardo Moura and Galhardo as role models to excel in the competition and compete for a spot in the first team.
\"The opportunity is great. Now is the time to show my worth. Everything will work out. Galhardo is a good example, for sure, Leo Moura is a role model, and I hope I can maintain that quality. We're going to fight for the title. That's what Flamengo is all about: always going out on the field to win," he said.
\The likely red-black lineup for the match is: Vinícius, Alex, Lucas (Dão), Rômulo and Henrique; Antônio, Fernando (Talles), Leo Medeiros and Willian Amendoim (Vander); Cristian Borja and Juninho (Leandro Amaral).
