Flamengo is looking for its first victory in the Campeonato Carioca. Represented by a team made up of 100% youth players, whose average age is approximately 18 and a half years old, Rubro-Negro will face Volta Redonda this Saturday (17), at 21:30 pm, at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, in the city of the same name as the opponent, which is located in the South-Fluminense Region.

Coach Bruno Pivetti led the last training session this Friday afternoon (16) before the match, valid for the second round of the Carioca. The activity took place at CT George Helal. Soon after, the delegation traveled to Volta Redonda, where they are now. Left-back Johnny will be absent from the team. The athlete underwent surgery on his left shoulder, which went without incident, and is already at home.

Flamengo earned one point in two games and occupies third place in Group B of the Carioca Championship. Volta Redonda won 1-0 against Boavista in their only game of the competition and occupies fourth place in Group A. The top four teams from each of the two groups, composed of six clubs each, advance to the quarterfinals.

So far, the Garotos do Ninho have drawn with Portuguesa (1x1), in an early game of the fifth round, played in Volta Redonda, and were beaten 2x1 by Bangu, away from home, in the Carioca. After the match against Volta Redonda, the next opponent will be Vasco, in Fla's first classic in the competition. The duel is scheduled for Wednesday (21), at 21:30 pm, at Maracanã.
