Clube de Regatas do Flamengo officially renewed midfielder Gerson's contract on Tuesday (08). The player's new contract with the club now runs until 2030 — previously, the contract was valid until 2027.

Gerson returned to Flamengo in 2023 for his second stint with the club, following a stint in European football. Since his debut, the number 8 has amassed 238 appearances, 18 goals, and 30 assists, playing a key role in victories such as the 2019 Libertadores, the 2019 and 2020 Brazilian Championships, and the 2024 Copa do Brasil, as well as state championships, Super Cups, and the Recopa Sudamericana. 

The contract extension reinforces the club's commitment to maintaining a strong and winning base, in addition to representing another step in the appreciation of athletes identified with the fans and the red-black history.
