Geuvânio analyzes the fight for a spot in the Libertadores Cup and projects future opportunities.
The striker spoke about his current form while wearing the sacred jersey.
By John Peter Granette - inFlamengo returned to training this Friday afternoon (27), at Ninho do Urubu, and continued their work in preparation for the remainder of the Brazilian Championship. In the press conference, the subject was still the Conmebol Libertadores and Geuvânio spoke about the situation of Mais Querido in the international competition.
"I think they're creating a very heavy atmosphere, but we haven't lost in the Libertadores yet. We won one game away and drew three. We have the conditions to qualify and now we're going to play with the support of the fans. I think Flamengo isn't in the crisis everyone's talking about. In the locker room, we all know we have the ability to win the games. The points we lost at home bother us, but we're alive, fighting, and we're going to fight until the last minute to get that spot," said the number 23.
The striker also made a point of praising the quality of Flamengo's squad.
"We know that the group is skilled and capable of delivering a good performance. There are games where things don't go our way, and the opposing team made things difficult playing at home. We are dedicating ourselves and working hard to turn things around and show good performances."
Finally, Geuvânio commented on the opportunities he has been given to showcase his football skills and highlighted the importance of having had a good pre-season.
"Right now I'm very happy with the opportunities I'm having this year. Last year I arrived mid-season and didn't do a pre-season. This year I did it from the beginning and that helped me a lot. Opportunities are appearing and I know I can perform much better. I'm ready."
