Flamengo has become the club with the most goals scored in the world. Last Saturday, Pedro scored the 13.000th goal in the history of the Mais Querido, making the Rubro-Negro the first team in the world to reach the milestone. Zagallo's goal is a crucial milestone in the club's history, a milestone that demonstrates the Rubro-Negro's commitment to avant-garde and tradition.

1- Gustavo de Carvalho - Flamengo 15 x 2 Mangueira - 3/5/1912

The goal that started it all! In May 1912, Flamengo had already existed as a rowing club for almost 20 years, but was still taking its first steps in football. The red-and-black's debut on the pitch remains, to this day, the biggest win in the club's history. Against Mangueira, Gustavo de Carvalho needed about a minute to find the net. It was the first goal in the history of the Most Beloved. Gustavinho, as he was known, went on to score four more that afternoon and, years later, was elected president of the club.

2 - Leonidas da Silva - Flamengo 3 x 4 Independiente/ARG - 24/12/1939

Soccer was becoming a national passion, and one of the country's greatest sports idols defended the Sacred Mantle. Leônidas da Silva, the star player and top scorer of the 1938 World Cup, scored his most memorable goal: the first bicycle kick goal in history. Mengão didn't win the friendly, but the match was immortalized by the Black Diamond's stunning goal.

3 - Valid - Flamengo 1 x 0 Vasco - 29/10/1944

The first three-time state championship came with excitement and started a tradition. The title was only decided in the final round. Vasco was leading and could even tie to win the trophy. In front of more than 20 people who packed the Gávea Stadium, Flamengo fought until the end. The goal, just after 40 minutes of the second half, was scored by an unlikely hero. Argentine star Agustín Valido made history wearing the Sacred Mantle, but by 1944 he was already retired and running a printing company. He came to Gávea to play a pickup game and caught the attention of coach Flavio Costa, who was struggling with injuries to his attacking players. The coach invited the star to play in the final matches of the competition. Valido played in the 6-1 rout of Fluminense, but the period of inactivity took its toll, and he arrived very weak for the final against Vasco, battling against relentless opponents and a fever of 39 degrees. None of his opponents, however, were able to stop the star, who headed in the title-winning goal.

4 - Dida - Flamengo 4 x 1 America - 4/4/1956

The current year was 1956, but the title at stake was 1955. The idol of idols put on a show and confirmed Flamengo's second three-peat state championship. Admired by Pelé, Zico, and many others, Dida was inspired on the afternoon of April 4th. Flamengo was competing for the title with América. The rules at the time stipulated that, regardless of the score, if each side won the final, there would be a playoff. "Mais Querido" won the first leg 1-0, with Evaristo scoring in the final kick. América triumphed in the return leg and gained confidence, defeating Flamengo 4-1. However, the tiebreaker brought revenge. The great Flamengo team, which also included Tomires, Pavão, Dequinha, Joel, Zagallo, and top scorer Paulinho, became three-peat champions with four goals from Dida.

5 - Gerson “Golden Lefty” - Flamengo 5 x 1 Santos - 19/04/1961

A well-deserved return in a clash between two of the greatest clubs in history! In the early 60s, Santos was enjoying a dominant moment, fueled by a squad featuring Coutinho, Mengálvio, and Pepe and led by none other than Pelé. In the first stage of the Rio-São Paulo match, Santos defeated Santos at Maracanã Stadium. Both teams advanced in the competition, and Santos' performance improved. Seeking a spot in the final, Flamengo traveled to Pacaembu Stadium in the penultimate round of the semifinals. Santos, without the "King of Football" on the field, found themselves crushed. At Pacaembu Stadium, Gérson "Canhotinha de Ouro" and Carlinhos commanded the midfield, and Santos crushed the opponent from the start. The passing exchanges involved the Santos defense, and Flamengo's attacking sector had a blast: Dida scored twice and Gerson, three times. Taking advantage of his speed, Canhotinha scored the fifth goal, which also sealed the star's treble. 

6 - “Maravilha” Thread - Flamengo 1 x 0 Benfica - 15/01/1972

The goal that became a song! One of the greatest geniuses in the history of music was enchanted and sang for the phenomenal Fio. In the friendly against Benfica at the Maracanã, the red-and-black striker made history. The best way to describe the goal is with Jorge Benfica's words: the star played a one-two, dribbled past two defenders, took a touch, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and only missed the ball, all because he was humble. A classy goal that showed guile and grit. An angel's goal, a true masterpiece!

7 - Rondinelli - Flamengo 1 x 0 Vasco - 3/12/1978

It's hard to even measure the significance of the "God of Race" Rondinelli's achievement. Flamengo was fielding a squad packed with players raised in Gávea, with red-and-black DNA. The results in the second half of the 70s, however, were still not encouraging. On that December 3rd, the Rio de Janeiro title lifted the spirits and gave the Golden Generation the confidence to emerge. The 0-0 draw gave the Cruzmaltino the title. The clock had already ticked past the 40th minute of the second half, and Flamengo was pressing for the winning goal. Zico wasn't the team's corner taker, but he was closest to the play when the ball went out of bounds. He received the ball from Uruguayan photographer Tchê and went to take the shot. The Galinho's careful play helped, but Rondinelli's determination sealed the deal. Running from outside the box, the defender beat his marker and put the ball in the net. It was also the first title of the third three-peat, which would be confirmed the following year.

8 - Nunes - Flamengo 3 x 2 Atlético-MG - 1/6/1980

The Golden Generation was beginning to transcend state boundaries. The first Brazilian Championship title came in front of a packed Maracanã stadium. More than 150 people watched the performance of Raul, Júnior, Carpegiani, Andrade, Adílio, Zico, Tita, and Julio Cesar Uri Geller. "João Danado" Nunes lived up to his nickname, "Decision Scorer." Mengão needed to overturn a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at Mineirão Stadium. Nunes opened the scoring after just 7 minutes, and Zico added the second in the first half, but Atlético-MG had a fantastic team led by Reinaldo and equalized on both occasions. The draw would have given the Minas Gerais team the title, but in the 37th minute of the second half, the red-and-black number nine burst into the box, dribbled past the full-back, and fired a shot between goalkeeper João Leite and the post.

9 - Zico - Flamengo 2 x 0 Cobreloa - 23/11/1981

America was turning red and black! King Zico was already an unparalleled idol, a king in red and black. The continental coronation could only come at the feet of the Gávea's number 10. And with a stunning goal in true Zico style: a spectacular free kick. Flamengo and Cobreloa had already played two tough matches. The Most Beloved won the first leg, at the Maracanã, 2-1; but suffered Chilean violence in Santiago and ended up losing 1-0. The unfair defeat inflamed the spirits of the red and black stars, who entered the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo inspired. Zico had already opened the scoring in the first half and, in the final stretch of the match, crowned the first continental title for the Red and Black.

10 - Nunes - Flamengo 3 x 0 Liverpool - 13/12/1981

In December 81, the top scorer once again shone in the final. 42 years ago, João Danado produced a magical moment for Flamengo. With his relentless precision, he capitalized on a pinpoint pass from King Zico and fired a shot into the Liverpool net. 11 - Adílio - Flamengo 3 x 0 Santos - 29/05/1983

A marvel at the Temple of Football. An undisputed title, immortalized by the image of the joy of a Flamengo fan running with open arms, as if embracing the Greatest Fanbase in the World. In the 1983 Brasileirão final at the iconic Maracanã, Adílio once again emerged as a legendary figure. With his skill and vision, he created an eternal moment. Simply, Arthur Antunes Coimbra! How can I describe this Zico match? Magical? Legendary? Historic? There aren't enough adjectives to describe the Galinho's performance. Three goals qualified Flamengo for the 1987 Brazilian Championship semifinals, the final goal a work of art. He stood in front of the ball, took a deep breath, and with the precision of an artist, curved it in the air, defying the laws of physics. The entire stadium held its breath, and the next moment, the roar of the crowd echoed. Everyone expected a free kick into the open corner, over the wall, but the King isn't everyone's cup of tea. Not even the opposing goalkeeper was able to react, and the ball bulged the corner of the net.

13 - Junior - Flamengo 2 x 2 Botafogo - 19/07/1992

The year was 1992, and the duel between Flamengo and Botafogo promised to be epic. In a move that would go down in history, Júnior, the Maestro, approached the ball with the composure of a master. The stadium pulsed with anticipation. The ball was on the edge of the box and landed in the corner. The air seemed to bend at the sight of the ball's impeccable trajectory, while the opposing goalkeeper stretched in vain. 15 - Ronaldo Angelim - Flamengo 2 x 1 Grêmio - 06/12/2009

Seventeen years of waiting and dreaming ended in the mind of a born Flamengo fan. A Northeasterner, hardy, and accustomed to overcoming adversity, Angelim never hid his love for Flamengo, and the celebration was beautiful when he bulged the Grêmio net that December afternoon in 2009. The game was tied at one goal apiece. The ball crossed the opponent's goal line, and Flamengo won a corner. Called on to be substituted, Dejan Petkovic was given another moment on the field to take the corner. A guided cross. A precise header. It's not hard to think of unforgettable moments from 2019, the Magic Year. There were so many! And how can we talk about this year without mentioning Giorgian de Arrascaeta?
