Rio de Janeiro government officially authorizes use of Maracanã stadium by Flamengo and Fluminense
In a ceremony, the governor of Rio highlighted the importance of the Maracanã Complex being managed by the clubs

On Friday morning (April 12th), in a ceremony held at Guanabara Palace, Rio de Janeiro Governor Wilson Witzel officially granted Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and Fluminense Football Club permission to use the Maracanã Complex for 04 days. In his speech, the governor emphasized the importance of this concession to the two clubs in their search for a more profitable stadium.
"Maracanã will be operated more fairly by the clubs. The home team will be responsible for ticketing, food, and beverages. I'm very happy with the solution Maracanã was given. Football is a spectacle. I'm sure everyone will be satisfied. I thank the clubs, the Federation president, the Secretaries, and the committee that led this entire project for their participation," he declared.
President Rodolfo Landim celebrated the signing of the permit to use Maracanã and promised efficient management of the entire Maracanã Complex.
"This was a conversation that began when I met with the governor shortly after he was elected last year. I expected it to last only five minutes, but once he started listening to what I was saying, he spent an hour and a half giving me his full attention, seeking out details. His concern for this type of problem quickly became perfect. He had the sensitivity to see things through, and things unfolded over time. You can be sure that Flamengo will do its best for Maracanã," the president emphasized.
