Flamengo fans didn't leave Maracanã satisfied this Thursday (26.08). The Nação Rubro-Negra expected a victory, but the team drew 0-0 with Atlético Mineiro, at home, in the match valid for the 16th round of the 2010 Brasileirão. And the players themselves also regretted the result. Despite this, they emphasized that the team didn't play a bad game and looked to attack at all times.
"Flamengo attacked and played on top of the opponent. We had chances and didn't take them, but we don't have to blame anyone. The group is united and the fans' pressure is normal. Playing at Maracanã is our obligation to get a positive result. We didn't score due to bad luck," lamented Renato.
The midfielder, who has been struggling to get into top form and to gain chemistry with his new teammates, believes that the team has already improved from the last match, against Atlético-PR, to today's game, and asked fans to believe in a comeback from Fla in the competition.
"The ball is coming and we're trying. Today we played better than Atlético and better than the last game. For the fans, the attack is always to blame, but everyone is to blame at this point. We're not going to look for someone to blame, we're going to see what we did wrong and correct it so we can do better in the next game," said the player, who also took the opportunity to support coach Rogério Lourenço.
"The responsibility is everyone's. Of course, the biggest pressure is on Rogério, but that happens. The results don't come and the pressure comes with it," he concluded.
