Rhodolfo, Cuéllar, and Willian Arão spoke to reporters in the mixed zone at Engenhão after the 2-0 loss to Botafogo. While dissatisfied with the result, they highlighted the team's positive performances in the match, as well as their ability to turn things around, with an eye on the rest of the season.
"The players on the field had quality and desire. Unfortunately, we didn't score," said midfielder Cuéllar, who returned to play for 90 minutes after returning from the qualifiers.
"We managed to play well a few times, but the second half was more balanced. We know our responsibility. We had a good first half, now it's time to train," said defender Rhodolfo.
Midfielder Willian Arão looked ahead to the first leg of the round of 16 against Chapecoense and issued a warning.
"Nothing will be decided in this first match. We still have the return match in Rio de Janeiro."
Flamengo and Chapecoense face each other this Wednesday (12) at Arena Condá, and seven days later (19) at Ilha do Urubu, with an eye on a place in the quarterfinals of the Conmebol South American.
