In the victory over Sport on Sunday at Ilha do Urubu, Guerrero scored another goal and increased his average for the season, which is already the highest of his career playing in Brazil. With 20 goals in 40 matches, the Peruvian has reached an average of 0,5 goals per game, well above his 2012 average of 0,47, his best mark until then. In that year, Guerrero played fewer games (17), but his effectiveness in 2017 is undoubtedly superior.

From then on, the goals kept coming until he reached his current average. In excellent physical condition, Guerrero still has a long season ahead to increase his tally and reach historic levels for the club. 

Five stars separate Guerrero from the top of the list of Flamengo's all-time leading foreign goalscorers. With 42 goals, he occupies sixth place, just behind Argentine Agustín Valido, with 45. Two more goals, in fourth place, is Briton Sidney Pullen, with 47. 

The third-placed player is Serbian Petkovic, with 57 goals, 15 more than Guerrero. It's a possible tally, but difficult to achieve this season. Guerrero would need an even better average than his current one and not miss any of the possible 21 remaining matches this season. 

Above Petkovic is striker Jorge Benítez, who scored 76 times in 115 matches. And in first place is the Argentinian Narciso Doval with his incredible 95 goals. 

The road to the top is long and complicated. But Guerrero has been increasing his numbers every season and has already proven that there's no such thing as "impossible."
