No nonsense, no taboos. That Paolo Guerrero knows how to score is already a known fact for every football fan - but 2017 became, this Wednesday (26), a special year for the Peruvian star. By scoring at Vila Belmiro, against Santos, the red-and-black number nine scored his 19th goal of the year, making this season the most prolific of his career.

In 2016, Guerrero came close to breaking the record. In 2013, while still playing for Corinthians, he scored 18 goals—a feat he matched three seasons later. After a career-best start to 2017, Guerrero maintained his momentum and broke his personal record in July.

His second season with Flamengo also saw him achieve his career-best goal average: 18 in 43 games, or approximately 0,42 per game. In 2017, his average was approximately 0,6 goals per game. Maintaining these numbers, playing the 46 games he played in the 2013 season, Guerrero would reach 27 goals, becoming the Flamengo's third-highest scorer in a single season, behind only Edílson (28 goals in 2001) and Hernane (36 goals in 2013).

With 41 goals while wearing the Sacred Mantle, Guerrero is currently the 6th highest foreign scorer in the club's history, behind only Valido (45 goals), Sidney Pullen (47), Petkovic (57), Candía (75) and Doval (92). Three teams share the lead in the ranking of biggest victims: Fluminense, Botafogo and Boavista have already conceded 4 goals from the Peruvian playing for Flamengo.

Just over two years after arriving at Flamengo, the Peruvian is very close to completing his 100th game wearing the Manto - he currently has 96.

Owner of increasingly important brands, Guerrero stated, in an exclusive conversation with the official website, that his personal brands are not his priority.

"Actually, I don't keep score, I don't set goals for myself. For me, it's important, of course, to score goals, because of the position I play; but more important is winning games, because that's what brings achievements, titles. Those are the goals I pursue," he said.

"The goals are coming because we have a good mobilization, we have important players on the team and I think we have a good finishing, but, as I said, the most important thing is to help the team, to be with them all the time. Even when I can't score goals, I always try to help my teammates score," he concluded.
