One of Flamengo's standout performers in their sixth Brazilian Championship title campaign in 2009, midfielder Zé Roberto is celebrating. Besides celebrating the title, he celebrates his birthday this Wednesday, December 9th, when he turns 29.

Zé Roberto is already in Salvador to celebrate with family and friends and where he will spend part of his vacation.

"The feeling of being Brazilian champion is wonderful. This sixth championship is the best birthday present I could receive this year. I'm in Salvador to catch up and celebrate with the people I love. I want to make the most of my vacation and get plenty of rest," said Zé Roberto.

Regarding the contract renewal with Flamengo for next season, the Flamengo midfielder still doesn't know how the negotiations are going.

"I prefer to leave this matter in the hands of my agents. What I know is that I still have a contract with Schalke 04 in Germany, but I want to stay at Flamengo in 2010 for the Copa Libertadores. When there is a definitive decision, I will let you know," he stated.
