Juan arrived at Flamengo in 2006 from Fluminense. And like any player signed from a rival team, he arrived at Gávea surrounded by considerable suspicion. But he ignored the pressure and, amidst the normal ups and downs of every athlete's life, won titles, was called up to the Brazilian national team, and became a key player in the tactical schemes of every coach who has worked at the club since.

That's why he established himself and is still at Gávea today, about to reach a historic milestone wearing the red-and-black jersey: in the match against Corinthians, this Wednesday (27.10), at Engenhão, the number 6 will play his 250th game for the club. In this period, he scored 32 goals, provided 62 assists and won five titles (three state titles, one Brazilian championship and one Brazilian Cup). Unforgettable moments for the player.

"I'm very honored to reach the milestone of 250 games for Flamengo. It's a privilege enjoyed by few and difficult to achieve these days. I will be eternally grateful for everything the club has given me so far. I've had the best days of my career here," he said.

One of the 32 goals was more special for the full-back: the one in the 2006 Copa do Brasil final against Vasco, which he chooses as, along with last year's Brazilian title, his greatest glory at Gávea.

"Without a doubt, winning the Brazilian Championship title last year and scoring in the 2006 Copa do Brasil final were the most special moments of this journey. They were objectives that Flamengo had been pursuing for a long time and that left us in the club's history," explained the full-back, who only hopes to celebrate the milestone with a victory against Corinthians.

"I hope to celebrate this special date with a victory over Corinthians. We know it will be a tough game, but we'll do our best to leave Engenhão with a good result," he concluded.
