Time to turn the tables! Flamengo faces Cruzeiro in the Conmebol Libertadores

The knockout stage has arrived! Flamengo turns all its attention to the Conmebol Libertadores. In a match valid for the round of 16 of the international competition, the Mais Querido will host Cruzeiro this Wednesday (8), at 9:45 pm, at Maracanã. The Nation will once again fill the stadium to encourage Rubro-Negro during the 90 minutes. 


In the final press conference before the match against the Minas Gerais team, coach Maurício Barbieri spoke with journalists and discussed the importance of the fans' support.

"Our goal is always to win. We'll make the most of our home advantage and also enjoy the support of the fans until the end. The idea is to take advantage of the spaces left by Cruzeiro to gain an advantage for the return leg."

The teams have already faced each other in 31 matches at the Maracanã. During this period, Flamengo won 14 times, there were nine draws, and eight losses.

In the last eight times that Flamengo and Cruzeiro have faced each other in Rio de Janeiro, across all competitions, Flamengo has won five and drawn the other three matches.

The last match between the two teams took place at the end of last year and was valid for the Brazilian Championship. Playing at Ilha do Urubu, Flamengo won 2-0 with goals from Everton and Vinicius Junior.
