Argentine Hugo Colace was introduced this afternoon in Gávea as Flamengo's newest signing for the Brazilian Championship. Hugo, who was playing for Estudiantes in Argentina, signed a contract until June 2008, with the option of a four-year extension.

El León, as he is known in Argentina, is 23 years old and began his career at Argentino Jrs., and has played for Argentina's under-15, under-17 and under-20 teams. The new signing spoke a little about his characteristics to the Rubro-negros.

"I'm a player who shows a lot of grit on the field, and that's why they call me the 'Lion.' I like to be used as a holding midfielder and preferably wear the number 5 jersey," says the athlete who has been captain of every team he's played for.

Hugo Colace sought some information about Flamengo with Mancuso, the last Argentine idol to play for the red-black team.

- "Mancuso said the fans are wonderful, and I was able to confirm this in the last two Flamengo games I watched at Maracanã. The fans are beautiful."
