"What I remember from that game is that I, personally, was very calm and confident of a victory because the team had quality and good players, like Julio Cesar, Felipe, and Athirson. I was very happy to have helped with a goal, knowing the importance of the game and what it represented for the fans," he said.
A product of Flamengo's youth academy, Ibson played 186 games for the club over six seasons (2003-2005 and 2007-2009), scoring 33 goals and providing 22 assists. He won three state championships and was part of the Brazilian championship-winning squad last year. However, he has also experienced difficult situations, and with firsthand experience, he expresses confidence in the current team to overcome this difficult period as well.
"I think today's team is capable of achieving a good result. Cruzeiro is going through a good moment, but Flamengo, if it depended on the squad, should be in a similar situation to their opponent, fighting at the top of the table. I'll be cheering for a victory here in Russia," the midfielder concluded.
