Regardless of the poor result, the kids from Gávea are praised
Sharing responsibility for results among everyone, Flamengo remains confident in its new crop of players.

Flamengo has faced a constant problem in recent rounds of the Brasileirão: absences. Injured players, two at the World Cup, and Adriano, transferred to Roma in Italy, were among the obstacles coach Rogério Lourenço faced when fielding the Rubro-Negro, who had to rely, once again, on young players from the youth teams.
Flamengo ended up defeated last Saturday (06.06) by Goiás and the result left everyone sad. But no one in the red-black squad blames the kids for the stumble.
"I have to praise the determination of these boys, who are striving for the best for Flamengo. Unfortunately, we didn't get the result, and that's what people look at. But we know the problems we've had in these seven rounds when it comes to selecting the team. One example is Mezenga, who, due to a lack of options, came into the match against Goiás because we had no one to play. I'm pleased with these players' performance, but of course we need to add more experienced young players," said Rogério, backed by the team's captain, goalkeeper Bruno.
"Last year, we had an experienced group that gave the kids confidence to work. I think this break is very important for Flamengo. It will give Rogério peace of mind and time to build a great team, and we are aware that we need to improve," said Bruno.
And the Flamengo goalkeeper also came to the defense of the young talents from Gávea. He believes that occasional errors ultimately determined the outcome against the emerald team at the Maracanã.
"The kids ran, they never stopped wanting to, but suddenly we were turned around. It's not their fault. We're playing with what we have, doing our best, giving our all, but football is a game of hits and misses. Against Goiás, we made mistakes and were punished. But nothing is lost. The championship is just beginning. We really wanted to be in the top four, but unfortunately, it didn't happen. We have to find a balance and I'm sure we'll achieve that soon," predicted Bruno.
