This Sunday (October 11.10th) promises many emotions for Jayme de Almeida. With his name etched in Flamengo's history, Oswaldo de Oliveira's assistant coach will be reunited with Desportiva Ferroviária, the first professional club he had the opportunity to coach, in 1992. He cherishes many memories from that time, and the help of a friend in particular.

"I spent a year in Vitória and made great friends there. We achieved the goals that Desportiva set for itself. The work was excellent. We qualified the team for the first division of the Brazilian Championship and became state champions. It was a remarkable, fantastic experience. Besides, Vitória is a very pleasant city to live in, quite similar to the South Zone of Rio. Paulo Sérgio, who was the goalkeeper for the Brazilian National Team, is a very good friend of mine and helped me adapt to the city. We were always together because my family couldn't go because of the children, who were studying and we didn't want them to leave school. So, I was very lonely there and Paulo helped me a lot," he recalled.

Because it borders Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo has a large number of Flamengo fans. Tickets for the friendly match sold out quickly, and a great reception for the delegation is expected. For Jayme de Almeida, this will be nothing new. According to Oswaldo de Oliveira's assistant coach, his connection with the Flamengo club even helped with the public's receptiveness when he took over Desportiva.

"Since they don't have a very strong championship, the Carioca [Rio de Janeiro state championship] is what they love. So there are a lot of Flamengo fans there. And they knew that I had been a player and had been discovered at Flamengo. With my image associated with the club, I was received with great affection and I can only be grateful. I'm sure we'll have a great crowd at the stadium," he said. Regarding the match venue, he sought information and seemed excited about what he heard. "I talked to friends who were at the stadium recently. Cláudio Adão himself, who now plays for Flamengo's Masters team, said the field is like a carpet. Hopefully we can have a great match there."
