Assistant coach Jayme de Almeida replaced Muricy Ramalho on the sidelines in Wednesday's defeat (18) and spoke to journalists after the match, which marked Flamengo's elimination from the Copa do Brasil. Jayme lamented the defeat and the opponent's defensive stance and asked for focus on the season's next competitions, the South American and Brasileirão.

Negative result
We really didn't expect a result like that, with all due respect to Fortaleza. They came here with the intention of closing down, not scoring. The result was terrible, a result no one expected, but we have to lift our heads. We have to look at what we did wrong so we can learn from subsequent mistakes. When a team like Flamengo, with its history in the Copa do Brasil, suffers a defeat like that, it's really frustrating. You can't think everything's bad, everything's terrible, but you definitely have to improve. You have to improve and support.
upcoming appointments
We have to congratulate Fortaleza without blaming ourselves. Our team fought the whole time, but didn't play well. They started off losing, got impatient... Now we have to have a good run in the Brazilian Championship. There's the South American Championship too, but that's a little further down the line. The Brazilian Championship has started, and we have to focus on facing Grêmio on Sunday.
The reason for the defeat
Looking back at the game today, I think we messed up, we weren't focused. I think we lacked a bit of composure. Fortaleza is very dangerous, very well organized, they were basically four or five in a line of nine, and they didn't let us get in. I think we lacked more experience, composure, because the game isn't decided by one ball. In the second half, I think we improved a bit.
Turn things around
We have to improve; there's no point in saying things are wonderful. We work for it. As I said, if the team starts to get going... we have to believe in the work, in the players, in the coaching staff; there's no other alternative. I'm a Flamengo fan, it's tough, and I know the fans are very upset. It was a huge blow to all of us. Disappointed, I think, is the most important word. Everyone here is thinking of ways to fix this.
Muricy's Guidelines
Muricy is Flamengo's coach. We always collaborate, but Muricy is the boss. It's as if Muricy were suspended, but we (Jayme and Tata are his assistants) work under his supervision. Today was a basic guideline: to start with the same team as the game against Sport, with Guerrero's issue.
