Flamengo demonstrated its resilience with an important and well-deserved victory in a direct clash against Atlético-MG on Sunday morning (10) at the Mané Garrincha stadium. The team, coming off a heavy defeat in the match against Corinthians in the last round, performed organized and dedicated on the field and achieved a 2-0 victory over the team from Minas Gerais. The reaction was praised by Jayme de Almeida in the post-match press conference - the assistant coach led the team in the absence of coach Zé Ricardo, who served a suspension.

We demanded it, in a good way, because we knew we needed to start strong and play well. The first 20 minutes were very good, but of course the pace dropped a bit after that. So we pushed the team closer and closed the gap. Their team is very skilled, very fast. But we did well. With a little more composure, Felipe Vizeu could have even scored the third goal.
Mancuello
In sports, we achieve things through hard work. When Mancuello had the opportunities, he did well. He was injured too. But Alan is doing well, and they both occupy more or less the same position. Mancuello came on today and almost left off at halftime. He came into the game feverishly and showed great determination. It's great to have players like that on the roster. Flamengo has built a group of players who want to fight for the Libertadores, for the title. Sometimes a group has to wait for its opportunity. No one wins a championship with 11 players; you have to have a quality squad.
Dispute in the attack
Experience counts, but the timing is there. Felipe Vizeu was very happy today. Guerrero, when he returned from the Copa América, came back very well, in my opinion. And the committee's opinion too. It'll be a fair, honest competition. Guerrero couldn't participate today, and the kid did a great job.
Mozer on the bench
He also coached in Portugal and elsewhere, and has extensive experience in many areas. We played together in Japan; I was his coach there, and he also has a wealth of football knowledge. It's important that we have a highly qualified coaching staff. He's there to help, to support Zé (Ricardo) in his work.
Visa
He's young, a kid, and he's looking for his place. If Flamengo is signing him, it's good because he's another high-caliber player, a good addition to the squad. Guerrero will sometimes be out for Peruvian national team commitments. Vizeu has to keep working. Regardless of name and experience, the fight has to be honest. That's what we try to encourage within the club.
Alan Patrick and Mancuello together?
We have to train more; we're always working on Wednesdays and Sundays. We have to rest before playing, too. We have to work on that; you can't build a team without training a lot. We have to take it one step at a time, so keep training, keep testing, and whatever we feel is good, we'll try to do in games as well.
