At the end of the match in Belo Horizonte, which saw Mais Querido, with one man less, be defeated 2-0 by Atlético-MG, interim coach Jayme de Almeida spoke to journalists in the stadium's press room. With the result, the points gap to the leader Corinthians grew even more. However, the Flamengo coach in this Sunday's (13) match stressed that the priority is all the competitions in dispute.

"Flamengo has to compete equally in all championships. All three tournaments. They don't have to choose between A, B, or C," said Jayme, commenting on the team's poor run in the national championship. "These negative results in the Brazilian Championship are a sign of a slump. In the Copa Sudamericana, we played a very good match. With the two goals conceded today, we felt it and our performance dropped significantly. It shouldn't have happened, but it shook us," he added.

Regarding the match against the Minas Gerais team, the coach commented on the team's performance. At the beginning of the second half, Trauco received his second yellow card after a tackle on Marcos Rocha, which made it even more difficult to mount a comeback.

"We erred in that, in having the necessary drive. In being more attentive so as not to suffer so much. The lack of attention took away our chance of winning. We lacked a bit of commitment, both at the beginning of the first half and in the second half. I think the score was fair. Atlético showed more desire than Flamengo," he concluded.

Attention turns to the Copa do Brasil during this time, with the first match of the semi-final phase of the competition in sight. This Wednesday (16), Mais Querido will face the classic against Botafogo. The match will be played at Engenhão, with the ball rolling from 21:45 pm.
