Jean attentive to Corinthians' attack

Defender says Flamengo's defense will face another test of fire in next Sunday's match

By - in
After playing his first millionaire derby and leaving the field without Flamengo conceding a goal, defender Jean is already thinking about the duel he will have with Corinthians, next Sunday (08.08), at Pacaembu. The red-black defender knows that the mission will not be easy, but praises the red-black system and predicts a great match against the São Paulo team.

The best defense in the Brasileirão after the World Cup, with only two goals conceded, Flamengo's defense was criticized for some time, but, according to Jean, the team is improving and can improve even more for Sunday's game.

"I'm very happy with the numbers that show that Flamengo's defense is doing well in the championship. This is the work of the entire team and shows that the defense, which has been heavily criticized, is improving. We will continue to improve with the work, and we have time these days to work before the game against Corinthians," he said.

After doing a good job against Vasco's attacking trio of Felipe, Zé Roberto and Felipe, Jean hopes to also neutralize Ronaldo and company in the next round.

"Regardless of who plays, we have a lot of work ahead of us. Jorge Henrique and Iarley are fast, skillful players, and they'll give Flamengo a hard time no matter what. Ronaldo, on the other hand, is a box-to-box player for Corinthians and requires greater care on our part. He doesn't need any introduction and can decide the game in just one play," he added.
