Jean comments on the emotion of scoring a goal wearing the Flamengo shirt

During the week leading up to last Sunday's match (August 29.08) against Guarani, defender Jean stated that, if necessary, even he and Ronaldo Angelim, Flamengo's defenders, would go forward to put the ball into the opponent's net. That's exactly what he did against Bugre: with a header, he scored the first goal for Flamengo in the match.
He happily remarked on the emotion of his first goal with the Manto Sagrado and only regretted the team's late comeback. He said the defeat left a lasting impression on the group, which is motivated to turn things around in the competition.
"It was kind of a prophecy. Thank God I was able to score the goal. I was happy to have felt this emotion, for the first time wearing a Flamengo shirt. But on the other hand, we lost a game that was in our hands. That hurts a lot," he said.
For Jean, one of the most experienced players in the squad, Wednesday's match (September 01.09) is already a great opportunity to prove Flamengo's strength. A victory against Cruzeiro in Uberlândia could boost Flamengo's morale.
"The group is holding its head high, it's all about moving forward, we have a tough game on Wednesday and it's a moment that can give us more strength to continue in the championship with a victory," he concluded.
