Jean speaks for the first time as a Fla starter
Defender expected to start against Internacional on Sunday at Beira-Rio

The first signing of Zico's management in Flamengo's professional football, defender Jean, will finally make his debut for the Rubro-Negro. The defender trained as a starter in the training session this Friday (23.07), at Gávea, and should start playing against Inter, on Sunday (25.07), at Beira-Rio.
The experienced defender hasn't played in a while, but he has no problem getting back on the field this weekend. He's physically and technically prepared, who has the trust of Rogério Lourenço, guarantees that he couldn't wait to play an official match for Rubro-Negro.
"I'm fully prepared for this debut; I always think about it a lot. I've been training for over a month and dedicating myself to taking advantage of the opportunity that has arisen. We had a training match (last Thursday) and I moved well. Today's training (Friday) helped me improve my positioning. But I know I'll only gain rhythm by playing," said Jean.
Jean's role model is his defensive partner, Ronaldo Angelim. The number 4 is a fan favorite and a player who has already made history at Flamengo. Because of this, and his on-field skills, he's admired by the new starter.
"I've been talking a lot with Angelim and I've been able to see on the field the qualities I've always admired in him. I know everything will go well alongside Angelim because of the experience we have. I'm already getting along with him. And there's no point in getting anxious about the match. We have to know it will be a tough game. That's why we'll try to do our best to help Flamengo," said Jean, who still doesn't know whether the team will play with two or three defenders in Porto Alegre.
"We don't know how we'll perform against Internacional. But we're prepared for anything that happens. Rogério has been insisting on training set pieces. We need to be careful with these types of plays," he concluded.
